Our ECR working group is organised into three committees, each led by a dedicated group of member.
The committees are:
- Training and Conference: Focused on organizing training sessions and workshops that provide valuable opportunities for professional development and networking for ECRs. The committee organised an informal gathering for ECRs at BioMedEng23, along with a ECR specific workshop during the 2-day event. – Led by Dr Wahbi El-Bouri. Members: Cameron Kirk, Dr Javad Sarvestan, Dr Hsien Yung Huang, and Leigh Ryan.
- Mentoring Network: This committee is developing a scheme to provide BioMedEng ECRs with support and guidance from senior members. The scheme will allow ECRs to contact mentors and arrange meeting/s to receive advice, guidance, and a new perspective on any decisions or career-related questions they have. We are currently looking for potential BioMedEng members who would like to volunteer to become a mentor, for more information please click here. – Led by Dr Rosti Readioff.
Members: Dr Lisa Alcock, and Dr Silvia Del Din.
- Communications Committee: Responsible for maintaining our online presence, including the ECR website, email list, and social media accounts (i.e., Twitter and LinkedIn). This committee works closely with the others to ensure that both our members and the wider community are kept up-to-date with the latest news, events, and achievements of our group. – Led by Dr Tecla Bonci. Members: Dale Kernot, Emma Packer, Nishtha Pahuja ,and Dr Chloe Hinchliffe.
Our group is open to all ECRs, including graduate and PhD students, postdocs, and junior faculty. We welcome researchers from all backgrounds in the biomedical engineering
