About

BioMedEng is the UK’s largest gathering of Biomedical Engineers, Medical Engineers and Bioengineers

The next annual conference will be held on Thursday 8 September to Friday 9 September 2022 at University College London in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. Expect to explore plenary sessions, keynote talks, break-out workshops, poster sessions, dedicated early-career researcher sessions and more.

Home to internationally-leading healthcare engineering

This year’s conference is brought to you by UCL Engineering and UCL Medical Sciences under the umbrella of our UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering.

The UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering brings together leading researchers to develop digital and medical technologies that transform lives across the globe.

Our UCL researchers are working at the forefront of advances in healthcare engineering, pushing the boundaries in areas where cutting-edge engineering innovation has the potential to transform patient care.

This year’s format

Due to demand, this year’s BioMedEng will be an in-person conference with a light virtual offering. We will be live-streaming keynotes and selected talks from each session on Zoom for those who are unable to attend at UCL Bloomsbury. To benefit from the full conference experience, we encourage you to register for the in-person event.

We expect speakers to present in person unless there are exceptional circumstances. If you have EDI needs, please contact us for a discussion about the support we can offer.

Registration for the livestreamed event is £20 per person to cover operational costs.

Kindly supported by our sponsors:

Gold sponsor: Biomedical Engineering Steering Group

The Joint Biomedical Steering Group currently comprises of representatives from the IET, IMechE, IPEM, IOP, IOM3, BCS, FCI and the BioMedEng Association. It strives to provide a forum for member driven communities in Biomedical Engineering in the UK to come together to highlight upcoming events, make sure these are cross-advertised when suitable, and capitalise on cross discipline opportunities
